North Georgia Slips Past Eagles, 5-4

DAHLONEGA, Ga. — The Carson-Newman men's tennis team fell at North Georgia, 5-4, on Sunday afternoon at the North Georgia Tennis Complex.

With the loss, the Eagles are now 9-7 on the season.

While C-N took two of the three doubles matches, it could not hold the lead as it lost four of the six singles matches.

Winners for the Eagle were Rodolfo Schwarz (Brazil) and Trent Slagle (Knoxville, Tenn.) at No. 1 doubles, Adriano Kira (Brazil) and Chris Acker (Knoxville, Tenn.) at No. 3 doubles, Derek Holdway (Woodstock, Ga.) at No. 5 singles and Paul Birdsong (Woodstock, Ga.) at No. 6 singles.

The Eagles return to action against North Greenville on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Jefferson City.
