INDIANAPOLIS — The Carson-Newman softball team is ranked ninth in the first NCAA Division II Southeast Region Poll of the season, NCAA officials announced Thursday.

The Lady Eagles began the week at 25-10-1 overall and had a 20-10-1 record against regional opponents.

North Georgia is ranked first in the region. Lenoir-Rhyne, Armstrong Atlantic, Columbus State, USC Aiken, Augusta State, Flagler and Tusculum round out the top eight.
