JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman senior libero Angelle Hayes (Brentwood, Tenn.) netted the first SAC player of the week for a C-N volleyball athlete this seasons.
Hayes collected 57 digs across the Eagles three matches, averaging 4.75 digs per set.
The senior had a five match stretch two weeks ago where she averaged 7.85 digs/set.
Hayes sits in third place on the Carson-Newman all-time digs charts. She has 1,892 for her career – an average of 5.11 digs/set. Blaire Fowler holds the all-time Carson-Newman and SAC record with 2,550 digs.
Hayes needs to average 36 digs over the Eagles next three games to become the third Carson-Newman volleyball player all time to break the 2,000 dig plateau.
Carson-Newman is at home for its final three matches. The Eagles begin their homestand Tuesday night at 7 p.m. with a rivalry match against Lincoln Memorial.
