    Former Eagle basketball standout Tony Mills passes away JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Former 1960’s Carson-Newman basketball standout John Anthony (Tony) Mills has passed away. He was 62. Mills was the first African-American basketball player at Carson-Newman, and played for the Eagles from 1966-1970.
