Bio

2012: C-N's fourth leading rusher in his sophomore season.  Toted the ball 111 times for 652 yards.  Only had two negative rushes all year.  Scored eight touchdowns while averaging 5.9 yards a touch and 54.3 a game.  Had a long run of 40 yards.  Played in all 12 games, with four starts.  Made six special teams tackles - including a career high three solo stops against Catawba (10/6).  Rushed for a career high 161 yards in a 66-36 route of Tusculum (11/3) on 23 carries - also a career high.  Had a pair of score against both the Pioneers and North Greenville (10/13).  Caught his first career pass for 23 yards in the Eagles' playoff victory over Lenoir-Rhyne (11/24).  His only 100-yard game of the year came against Tusculum, but he surpassed 75 yards on four occasions - Glenville State (8/30), Brevard (10/27) and Mars Hill (11/10).   

2011: Saw action in all 11 games and was the team’s most productive freshman running back, gaining 328 yards and scoring four touchdowns… Carried 10 times for 91 yards and a score against Catawba (10/08)… Had a career-high 107 yards and a touchdown against Mars Hill (11/12) in the final game of the season.

HIGH SCHOOL: A record-setting running back for Brad Conley at Gibbs High School, Hibbett is the Eagles' all-time career leader in touchdowns with 51 and rushing yards with 3,516.  He set single season records with 2,326 yards on the ground and 30 touchdowns his senior year.  Also holds the single game marks for touchdowns with five and rushing yards with 333.  A two sport athlete, he also played baseball and is the single season leader in stolen bases with 41.  As a football player, Hibbett was a two-time all-district selection and two-time All-K.I.L pick.  In 2009, he earned district offensive player of the year honors while taking home All-Prep-xtra first team, all-state and district player of the year awards his senior season.  In that year, he helped Gibbs to a district title and a third round appearance in the state playoffs.  His baseball honors are equally numerous and include a 2010 AA state championship.  Hibbett's a two-time all-district, all-K.I.L and all-Prep-Xtra First team selection.  He earned all-state honors his senior year.  

PERSONAL: Son of Susan and John Hibbett, he's majoring in physical education at C-N.  His father played football at the University of Tennessee, seeing action in 31 games as an offensive guard.  His father now is an SEC official.  Hibbett's aunt, Carol (Zachary) Mitchell, is the only three-time first team All-American in Carson-Newman's softball history.  Born June 21, 1992.  He lives in a house in Jefferson City with the Eagles' unofficial mascot Carl - a black lab.
