Carson-Newman Cross Country Competes in Fleet Feet Sports Invitational

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The Carson-Newman cross country teams competed in their third meet of the season today at the University of Alabama-Huntsville. The women's team placed fifth in the Fleet Feet Sports/Earl Jacoby Memorial Cross Country Invitational, while the men's team took ninth.
The Lady Eagles finished fifth out of twelve teams in the Saturday morning contest with 116 points. Carson-Newman was led by senior Aubrey Morris (Chattanooga, Tenn.) with a second place finish. Adding to the Lady Eagles' efforts were teammates Tiffany Winchell (11th place), Melissa Ford (20th place), and Cara Hawkins (30th place.)
The Carson-Newman men's team picked up ninth place in the Saturday morning meet with 233 points. The Eagles were led by sophomore Jonathan Madden (41st place overall) and freshman Chris Cowan-Banker (49th place overall).
Both the men's and women's cross country teams will be back in action next Saturday, September 27, at The Citadel Invitational in Charleston, S.C.
