Brown, Eagles take first at Johnson City Invitational

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - The Carson-Newman Track Team had a number of strong performances along with several relay and individual wins.  The Men's Team was also the high point winner for the Johnson City Invitational. 

The Johnson City Invitational in its second year is both a high school and College competition.  Jason Brown continued his winning ways with a jump of over 23 feet in the Long Jump leaving him very close to qualifying for nationals in Pueblo, Colorado. 

Andrew Pickwell fell just short of High Jumping 6'9 which would have had him qualify for nationals also, but won the event.  Other winners were Alexis Conner in the women's long jump, Cassadine Blassingame in the Triple Jump, Randall Freeman in the Shot Put, Anthony Goins in the 100M, Anthony Baskins in the 200M, and the men's 4 X 100M team of Jason Brown, Anthony Goins, Nate Inman, Solomon Duanah.  

A school record was also established in the women's DMR and those runners were: Amanda Bowman, Rachel Logemann, Brooke Earhart, and Sammy McConeghey .  The Eagles compete this Saturday in Knoxville at the University of Tennessee.
