2015-16: Appeared in 27 of the Eagles 29 games and made two starts.  He finished fourth on the team in made three pointers with 22.  Barnett averaged 2.9 points and 1.9 rebounds per game.  He shot 33 percent from three.  Barnett had a career day against Johnson C. Smith (11/18).  He scored 16 on the Golden Bulls on 5-of-10 shooting from both the field and from deep. All of those stats were career marks.  That was the only time on the year where Barnett had doiuble-digit points.  He matched his career high fro rebounds against Brevard (2/24) and came a point and a rebound from having his first career double-double against the Tornados. 

2014-15: Appeared in 27 of Carson-Newman's 32 games in his sophomore year Finished third on the team in made three-pointers with 30.  He averaged 3.7 points and 1.0 rebounds per game. He shot 31 percent from three-point range and from beyond the arc.  He only made three, two-point field goals all year.  Barnett set most of his career highs against Lenoir-Rhyne (12/10).  He scored 15 points on 5-for-10 shooting from the field and from deep.  All five categories are career marks. He produced his first career five-rebound game against Anderson (1/28) grabbing six defensive boards. Barnett also turned in a 10-point effort against USC Aiken (11/29). The Eagles were 2-0 when he scored double digits. 

2013-14: Appeared in 10 games in his redshirt freshman season and averaged 3.2 points and 1.0 rebounds per game.  Shot 39 percent from the field and from three.  Had eight points on 2-3 shooting from three in a home victory over Mars Hill (1/8).  Set a career high with nine points in the Eagles' NCAA tournament loss to Lincoln Memorial.  In that game, he nailed three-of-four threes in the final 75 seconds.  

2012-13: Redshirted

HIGH SCHOOL: Standout at nearby Pigeon Forge High School where he scored over 1,000 career points and was twice named his team's MVP. He was a two-time all-district selection, and was named all-Region as a senior. As a senior, averaged 18.5 points per game while shooting 56.2 percent from the field and 40.5 percent from three. Shot 80 percent at the line. As a junior, averaged 14.3 points per game and shot 45.6 percent from three. Coached by Jonathan Shultz.

PERSONAL: Son of Brad and Amy Barnett. In the classroom, Barnett was a four-year member of the school's honor roll and was involved in Beta Club and Student Government.

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman students will have an opportunity to win a semester and a year’s worth of free books thanks to the Carson-Newman Bookstore and Dominos is giving away a year’s supply of free pizza as Carson-Newman’s men’s and women’s basketball teams celebrate the start of basketball practice with Mossy Creek Madness.
