2015: Carson-Newman's third leading tackler had 68 stops with five tackles for loss, a sack, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.  Staton appeared in all 12 games for the Eagles while making five starts for Carson-Newman at linebacker. Staton had at least five tackles in every game save for three. He topped out with 11 tackles in the Eagles loss at Lenoir-Rhyne (10/3). He had nine against Limestone (10/31) and eight against Catawba (9/19).  He ranked as Carson-Newman's second leading special teams tackler with nine tackles on special teams.  He led Carson-Newman in tackles twice on the season.  He forced and recovered a fumble against Brevard (10/10). His lone sack on the season came at Mars Hill (9/26).  He set a career high that day with 2.5 tackles for loss against the Lions. 

2014: Carson-Newman's leading special teams tackler.  Staton made 14 stops on kickoffs and punt coverage on the year and appeared in all 10 games.  He had his best performance of the year when he held SAC Offensive Player of the Year Dimitri Holmes in check with six special teams stops against Mars Hill (10/4).
