Bio

2015: A second team All-SAC receiver, Ward closed his career by snagging eight passes for 214 yards and two scores in the Eagles' playoff loss to Valdosta State.  The 214-yard day is the third best single-game receiving total by an Eagle and the first time a wideout has caught 200 yards worth of passes by a Sparks-coached team.  It had been more than 13,000 days since Carson-Newman last had a 200-yard receiver. Ward's 877 yards receiving this year are the second most by a Sparks-era wideout and the eighth most all-time.  His 45 receptions are the seventh most all-time and the most ever for a wide receiver in the Sparks era. For his career, his 85 receptions rank seventh all-time and his 1,533 yards receiving are also seventh all-time. Ward also exits Carson-Newman as the all-time leader in kickoff return yards (2,561) and kickoff returns (115).  He returned kickoffs in all 46 games of his Carson-Newman career.

2014: Second on the team in all purposes yards with 915.  He rushed for two, was Carson-Newman' second leading-receiver with 292, grabbed 68 in punt return yards and 553 in kickoff returns.  Ward’s best games catching the ball came in succession against Brevard, Catawba and Mars Hill.  He caught three passes for 79 yards and a score against the Tornadoes.  He looped in a quartet of receptions, including the game-sealing touchdown, for 59 yards against Catawba before tallying a career high 96 yards on three catches and a touchdown against Mars Hill.

2013: Led Carson-Newman with 1,215 all purpose yards, 91 of which came on the ground, 344 through the air, 75 on punt returns and 705 on kickoff returns.  He reset his own school record for most return yards in a season with his 705 kickoff return yards.  Ward did the bullk of his work on the ground against Mars Hill (10/5) when he tallied 56 yards on the ground on four carries.  He was C-N's third leading receiver.  Had a career best five grabs against Wingate (11/16) and Lenoir-Rhyne (11/30).  Had his career high for receiving yards against Newberry (11/9) with 92 yards, among that was a 53-yard career long grab and his first career touchdown.  His longest kick return of the year was an 81-yarder against Catawba (9/28).

2012: Fourth on the team in all-purpose yards as a freshman.  Had 65.5 a game with 51 yards rushing, 20 receiving and 650 on kick returns.  Best game on the ground came against North Greenville (10/13) when he toted the rock four times for 25 yards.  Had four carries for 18 yards the week prior against Catawba (10/6).  Averaged 21.7 yards a kick return with a long of 35 yards.  Had a career high seven returns for 183 yards on the road at Newberry.
