Bio
2016: The Eagles' leading receiving in 2016, Williams snagged 513 yards worth of passes off 31 catches. He averaged 46.6 yards per game and 16.5 yards per catch. In spite of being the Eagles' number one receiving, Williams never found the end zone. Williams had just the third 500-yard receiving season for Carson-Newman in the last decade, joining TraShaun Ward and Reggie Hubbard. Williams had back-to-back 100-yard receiving efforts, the first in his career, against Catawba (9/17) and Mars Hill (9/24). He caught a season high five passes against Humboldt Stae (9/1) and against the Indians. Williams' season long catch of 60 yards came against the Lions. He also returned 23 kicks for 493 yards, with a season-long 48 yarder coming against Wingate.
2015: Carson-Newman's third leading receiver, Williams caught 13 passes for 186 yards and a score. He averaged 14.3 yards per catch wiith a long reception of 53 yards for the touchdown against Brevard (10/10). Williams also returned 24 kickoffs for 561 yards for 23.4 yards a kick return. His long return was of 52 yards. He appeared in all 12 games for the Eagles but didn't start any. His best day receiving came against Brevard when he caught four passes for 97 yards. He also hauled in three receptions for 25 yards against North Greenville (11/7). Williams returned eight kicks for 188 yards in the Eagles' playoff loss to Valdosta State, the third highest single-game kick return total in school history.
2014: Earned all-America honors as a return specialist from the Beyond Sports Network. Williams led the nation in yards per kickoff return with 34.1 a touch and one was of ten players in the country to bring to kickoffs back for touchdowns. Williams' 34.1 yards per return is the third highest single season mark in Carson-Newman school history behind Kendall James (39.7) and Ques Rumph (34.7). Williams was the fourth Carson-Newman player to return multiple kickoffs for scores in a single season. He set the Carson-Newman single game record for kickoff return yards against Brevard (9/20) – his first game returning kicks. Williams set a school record for kickoff return yards with 215. His first career kickoff return went 100 yards for a touchdown on the opening play of the game. The 100-yard kickoff return is the fourth in school history and the first since 1992. He also returned a kickoff 92 yards for a score against Newberry (11/8). Williams also caught thre passes for 36 yards as a slot receiver.
High School: Had more than 1,000 yards passing, 650 yards rushing and 20 touchdowns accounted for coach Randy Holmes at Mount Pleasant High School. Was his team's MVP in 2011 and 2012. He also earned first team all-conference honors his junior seniors as a defensive back and his senior season as a quarterback.
