Jeterryous Jones

Bio

2024: Jones played in 11 games with starts for C-N in 10 contests.  He had 37 stops and 0.5 tackles for loss. Jones also forced a fumble and recovered a fumble while breaking up three passes.  Jones topped out at 8 tackles in the Eagles win over Wingate (Sept. 21).  He also had his half tackle for loss that day.  He had seven tackles and forced a fumble against Catawba (Sept. 28).  His fumble recovery came at Emory & Henry (Oct. 26). 

2023: Jones started all 11 games for Carson-Newman at safety.  He finished sixth on the team in tackles with 50, 29 of which were solo stops.  He had 1.5 tackles for loss and a team-best two interceptions.  Jones registered three pass break ups and a had a forced fumble and fumble recovery as well.  Jones topped out at eight tackles against East Tennessee State (Sep. 9). He had six games with at least five tackles. Jones secured his interceptions against Virginia Lynchburg (Aug. 31) and against Tusculum (Oct. 7).  He also recovered his only fumble on the year against the Pioneers. 

2022: Jones appeared in 11 games as a reserve defensive back for Carson-Newman.  He made 11 tackles on the year.  He had a career-high four stops at Tusculum (Oct. 8).  

2021: Did not appear in any games. 

HIGH SCHOOL: Jones accounted for over 200 tackles throughout his career at Banneker, catching five interceptions along the way. He was an All-Region selection from a Trojans squad that won the region title in 2018. Also ran for the track team.

PERSONAL: Jones was recruited by a number of schools, including UT-Martin, Mercer, Liberty and Kennesaw State. The son of Jessica Young and Terrence Jones, he plans to study marketing at Carson-Newman. His father, Terrence, played football at Kentucky.
