Bio
2017: Burns earned first-team preseason all-conference honors poised to follow up a stellar sophomore campaign. She was named All-SAC second-team at the end of the regular season. Six straight shutouts from Oct. 7 to Oct. 31, a new-school record. The Northern Ireland native started in all 23 games for Carson-Newman which included 11 solo shutouts on the year. She grabbed First-team USC All-Region honors and second-team All-Region from D2CCA. Burns stopped 80 shots on the year allowing just 10 goals for a save % of .889 and a goals-against average of .44 in 2037 minutes of playing time, second on the team. She allowed just two goals in regulation during the five-game NCAA Tournament run. C-N outscored opponents 72-13 on the year. Burns holds the all-time record for shutouts in a career during the D2 era with 25.3, and has still two years left to build on the resume. She is also the all-time winningest goalkeeper in program history with 37 wins.
2016: Played every minute of every game in net for C-N, posting a 17-4-1 record...Broke the SAC record for shutouts in a season by accumulating 14...Posted a goals-against average of 0.63, second in the SAC and 23rd in the country...Allowed 14 goals tied for fourth in the SAC...Had an .816 save percentage in 2016, fifth in the SAC...Put together a streak of five consecutive shutouts from Oct. 22 at Brevard to Nov. 4th against Anderson (S.C.), also shutting out LMU, Coker and Catawba...Set a career-high with six saves against Wingate on Oct. 15th...Also earned clean sheets against Lees-McRae, Francis Marion, USC-Aiken, Mars Hill, Queens (N.C.), Anderson (S.C.), King (Tenn.), Catawba and Limestone.

Lauren Wade was named SAC Player of the Year and Simon Duffy was voted Coach of the Year by the league's coaches.
