Bio

2016: Reserve pitcher for the Eagles. She made five appearances, all in relief for the Eagles.  She pitched 3.1 innings, giving up five hits and three runs.  She pitched 3.0 innings of scoreless ball before giving up her first runs against Tusculum.  

HIGH SCHOOL: A pitcher from Carter High School in Knoxville, Tenn. Her junior year, she helped Carter to a 34-12 record with 258 strikeouts in 249 innings pitched.  She touted a 1.44 ERA with 14 shutouts, two no-hitters and four one-hitters.  She's a two-time all-district selection and earned all-state honors in 2014. The Hornets were the 2014 regular season and tournament district champions.

PERSONAL: The daughter of Amy Needham and Rob Blackburn, Nicole is a member of the National Honor Society and has won awards for Chemistry, American History and English 1, 2 and 3 as well as Government.

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn.—Carson-Newman stumbled out of the gate in a double-header slate of contests Saturday afternoon at the Vickee Kazee-Hollifield Softball Complex as the Eagles fell 4-3 in nine innings in game one and were run-ruled 12-4 in a five-inning game two.
