Bio

2018: Benzick appeared in 12 games with four starts as a junior.  She went 4-for-15 at the plate. she hit her first career home run against Erskine on Feb. 6.  That day also featured her lone multi-RBI effort on the year.  Benzick had the highest pinch-hit batting average on the team.  

2017: Appeared in 21 games with 10 starts.  Benzick swung a potent bat, hitting .406 for the year with 13 strokes in 32 at bats.  She conked three doubles and drove in seven runs, slugging .500 for the year with a .472 on base percentage.  She also successfully laid down four sacrifice bunts, the third most on the team. She tallied a career-best three hits against Augusta (3/5) while driving in a career-best three runs against Bluefield State (3/9).  Carson-Newman went 9-1 when she started and 7-0 when she scored a run.  

2016: Came off the bench six times for the Eagles while earning a start once against North Greenville (3/16).  Benzick was 1-for-6 at the plate.  She scored a pair of runs and drove in three RBI.  She had a multi-RBI performance in her debut against Bluefield State.  

HIGH SCHOOL: An infielder from Virginia Beach and Tallwood High School.  Her freshman year, she hit .393 with 14 home runs and just one strikeout for the Lions.  She cranked 14 more home runs her sophomore season before smashing 10 her junior year with a .431 batting average.  Benzick won her team's  triple crown as a junior and has earned all-conference accolades all three years of her high school career. 

PERSONA: A decorated academician, Benzick is the daughter of Susanne and Bently Benzick.  She is a member of the Principle's List, Honor Roll and National Honor Society.  She is also a member of the National Spanish Honor Society.  She holds the chairmanship for the SCA Spirit and Sportsmanship club and is the Future Business Leaders of America vice president.
