2021: Baker-Celis evolved into Carson-Newman's number two starter in the circle toward the tail end of her junior year.  She went 5-1 in the circle with a 3.57 ERA.  Baker-Celis made 11 appearances and seven starts in the circle, going a complete game five times with one shutout.  She gave up 60 hits and 31 runs, 27 earned, in 53.0 innings of work.  Baker-Celis only walked 12 while fanning 38.  Baker-Celis notched double-digit strikeouts for the first time in her career when she made 10 whiff in a 5.1-inning relief effort at Wingate (3/27). That also goes down as the most strikeouts by a Carson-Newman reliever all-time.  

2020: Appeared in the cirle in six games with three starts en route to a 3-0 record and a 3.04 ERA.  Baker-Celis tallied two complete games and a shutout on the year.  Opponent's hit .196 off her.  She struck out 24.  her complete-game shutout came in a 9-0 run-rule win over King (2/15).  She also had a career-high six strikeouts that day.  She went 0-for-1 at the plate on the year.  

2019: Appeared in four games with one start in her first year at Mossy Creek. Baker-Celis was 2-for-4 at the plate with an RBI.  She fired 0.1 innings of relief work in the circle.  She faced one batter and got an out against Mars Hill. 

HIGH SCHOOL: Baker-Celis makes the trek across country after starring for Emily Atkinson for the Redwood Giants.  As a senior, she posted a 1.2 ERA with 139 strikeouts in 82 innings.  She allowed 14 earned runs across 12 games started. She was twice named MCAL All-League, earning the recognition as a junior and as a senior.  Baker-Celis helped Redwood to a spot in the NCS title game in 2015 as a freshman. 

PERSONAL: The daughter of Tina Celis.  She plans to study biology at Carson-Newman.  Herr mother ran cross country and track for Nevada.  Her older brother had a collegiate football career that bridged Nevada and Wagner.   Baker-Celis received the Honors Society Award upon graduation from high school.

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Pitcher Morgen Baker-Celis (Kentfield, Calif.) dealt a four-hit shutout in the nightcap to salvage a split between Carson-Newman (18-10, 11-9 South Atlantic Conference) and Tusculum (14-14, 8-8 SAC) Wednesday afternoon at the Vickee Kazee-Hollifield Softball Complex.
