Bio

2021: Levi earned all-conference honors for a third time and the second as a member of the second team. A 203-game starter behind the plate, Levi hit .319 this year with a .460 OBP and a .586 slugging percentage.  She is the only catcher in the league who has played error free behind the plate. Levi has tallied four multi-hit and nine multi-RBI games this year.  She was 3-for-4 with three runs scored against Tiffin (Feb. 21).  She drove in three-RBI against both Limestone (Mar. 10) and UVA Wise (Mar. 16). The senior has hit five home runs and eight doubles on the year.

2020: Levi blossomed in her first senior season (the Murfreesboro, Tenn.-native plans to use her extra year of eligibility granted due to the CoVID-19 health crisis) at the plate.  Levi was hitting .463 in 2020 before the season came to an early close.   She had eight doubles and two bombs with 25 RBI. In her Carson-Newman career, she ranks first in SAC flys with 10 and second in times hit by a pitch with 54. She also has the second best fielding percentage (.996), second most chances (1089) and second most putouts (990).  She was riding a five-game multi-hit streak when the season was cut short and had three games with at least four RBI.

HONORS:

  • CoSIDA Academic All-American
  • CoSIDA Academic All-District

2019:  Levi once again featured prominently among the top defensive catchers in the South Atlantic Conference and the Southeast Region.  Levi was the only player in the league with more than 150 chances and without an error.  She only issued one passed ball on the year. She has only given up six stolen bases on the year, the fewest in the league among catchers. That comes while catching a third of runners stealing against her, the second highest percentage in the conference. At the plate, Levi led Carson-Newman in RBI with 38.  She also has a team-best seven game-winning RBI.  She was third on the team in home runs with eight. Levi also had a quintyet of doubles and a triple.  She had nine multi-hit efforts and eight multi-RBI days. Levi has been hit by a pitch a whopping 47 times in her career.  That's the second most in school history and the 22nd most in NCAA history.  Levi resest her career high for RBI driving in four against Queens (4/27) in the South Atlantic Conference tournament.

HONORS:

  • All-SAC Second Team Catcher

2018: Levi started all 54 games behind the plate for the Eagles in her sophomore season.  Levi hit .226 with 31 hits in 137 at-bats.  She tallied seven doubles, a triple and two dingers, one of which was a game-tying seventh inning blast against Wingate. Levi drove in 17 runs.  She was among the leaders in the southeast for runners got stealing.  She threw out 15 runners on the year, a 35 percent clip. She had a quintet of multi-hit efforts, and the Eagles were 5-0 when she had at least two knocks.  Levi was hit 13 times by a pitch.  Through two years, she has gotten plunked 38 times, good to be among the 25 most hit batters in NCAA history.

2017: Levi instantly transformed herself into one of the best defensive catchers in the conference.  Levi threw out 15 runners who tried to steal on her, the most of any catcher in the Southeast Region.  She caught 46 percent of runners who have tried to steal on her, also the top mark among catchers in the Southeast.  She and pitcher Lacie Rinus combined to throw out an absurd 73 percent of runners who have attempted to steal on that battery in particular. Levi has only made one error behind the plate.  Her .997 fielding percentage is the highest among players in the conference with more than 100 total chances.  At the plate, Levi hit .318 with 12 doubles, a triple and two dingers.  The 12 doubles are the second most on the team.  She has had 12 multi-hit performance and seven multi-RBI efforts. She had a four-hit day against King and drove in a career-best three runs against Georgia College.

Levi batted .333 with a .725 slugging percentage as a junior and drilled four home runs.  She was named the 7AAA District defensive player of the year her freshman through junior years and also earned all-district honors those seasons.  She's helped Siegel to the final four in the state her junior year and regional and sectional titles that season as well.
