2017: One of Carson-Newman's most productive pass-catchers of the option era, Miller inked a contract as an undrafted free agent with the Jacksonville Jaguars on May 2 following his senior year. Miller's signing means that Carson-Newman has placed a wide receiver in an NFL camp in back-to-back seasons.  Kevin Snead signed in UDFA contract with the New York Giants last season. Miller becomes the 58th Eagle to move on to the NFL.  He is Carson-Newman's first player to be affiliated with the Jaguars.  Miller carved his name into the Carson-Newman record books as a senior.  Miller's 868 yards receiving are the second most for Carson-Newman during the option era (1972-present) and the sixth highest single-season total in school history.  He came within four yards of besting Reggie Hubbard's option era single-season receiving yards mark.  He joins Hubbard as the only other receiver in the option era with four, 100-yard receiving efforts in one season.  He became the fourth player of the option era with a 150-yard receiving effort, turning that in against Wingate when he caught six passes for 151 yards and two scores.  Miller snagged eight passes for 102 yards against Lenoir-Rhyne, matching an option-era record for single-game receptions.  He finished the season fifth in the country in yards per catch.

2016: Made nine catches for 98 yards as a junior.  Miller did the bulk of his damage against Mars Hill (9/24) with a four-catch, 54-yard performance.  He had his long reception of the year, 24 yards, that day.  He also caught passes against Humboldt State (9/1), Saint Augustine's (9/10) and Tusculum (11/12) 

HIGH SCHOOL: Dorren Millier is a wide receiver from Berkmar High School by way of Georgia Military College. During his final two years with the Berkmar Patriots, Miller tallied 1,994 receiving yards. He was an All-County player his final two years for the Patriots. 

PERSONAL: Miller is the son of Katina Mitchell and Alfred Miller and will study Business.

Turnovers prove costly, Eagles drop 31-27 decision at Wingate

WINGATE, N.C. – Carson-Newman (2-1, 0-1 South Atlantic Conference) rallied twice but was undone by turnovers and a strong third quarter from Wingate (3-0, 1-0 South Atlantic Conference) 31-27 Saturday night at Irwin Belk Stadium.
