Lady Eagles’ commitment to academics recognized by WBCA

ATLANTA – For the fourth straight year, Carson-Newman women's basketball earned a special mention academic honor, as announced earlier today by The Women's Basketball Coaches Association.

The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes college women's basketball teams across the nation in their respective divisions that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. A team must have a combined GPA of 3.0 or better and be nominated by its head coach who must be a member of the WBCA to be recognized. The 2025-26 season is the 31st in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.

Teams having a 3.0 combined GPA and qualifying for consideration in their respective divisions are also listed as special mentions.

Head coach Mike Mincey's team recorded a 3.63 during the 2025-26 academic year. C-N's grade point average was the highest among South Atlantic Conference and Southeast region schools

Earlier this year, the Lady Eagles had three players named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Teams, Emily Gonzalez (Lenoir City, Tenn.), Karli Haworth (Harriman, Tenn.) and Keeleigh Rogers (Knoxville, Tenn.).
