Baiunco's 76 ties for sixth in first round of Flagler Fall Slam

AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Sophomore Danielle Baiunco (Melbourne, Fla.) finished day one of the Flagler Fall Slam tied for sixth after firing a 4-over par 76, Monday in St. Augustine, Fla., at the Marsh Creek Country Club. Head coach Amanda Moore said the weather made Baiunco's performance more impressive for the first round one.
"I'm proud of Danielle, she hung in there for a very solid round in some tough winds this afternoon," Moore said.
Sophmore Chelsea Passmore (Knoxville, Tenn.) ended the day with a score of 82 (+10) which tied her for 40th.
Meridith Hawkins (Powell, Tenn.) and Mary Tunnell (Cordova, Tenn.) are tied for 43rd after shooting 83s in the first round.
Freshman Kelli Pemberton (Knoxville, Tenn.) shot an 94 and junior Lauren Hodge (Jefferson City, Tenn.) shot a 99 to finish out the Eagle's team scores.
The Eagles shot a 324 putting them in 11th place, putting them only 28 strokes behind tournament leader Barry University (296). Rival Tusculum (311) is in second, while Saint Leo is in third.
"The leader board is bunched up from third to 12th," Moore said, "We can still have a good finish with a better round tomorrow."
Round two of the tournament will begin Tuesday at 8 a.m.
