Eagles draw seven seed in SAC tournament

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Carson-Newman softball will enter the South Atlantic Conference tournament as a seven seed, the league office announced Saturday afternoon.
Carson-Newman will play second-seeded and co-regular season champion Anderson Thursday at 3 p.m. in Harrogate, Tenn.
The winner gets the winner of the Wingate - Brevard game while the loser faces the loser of that contest.
Anderson swept the regular season series from Carson-Newman 8-0 and 13-2. The 11-run win was the second largest margin of defeat for C-N in school history.
This is just the second time Carson-Newman will enter the league tournament lower than a five seed.
The last time the Eagles were seeded this low, they rattled off four straight wins as a six seed to roll to a SAC title and an eventual super regional appearance.
