2022: With 39 stolen bases, Leah Sohm had the fifth-most stolen bases in a single-season in school history. Arguably the fastest player in the in the Southeast Region, Sohm finished her career with  the third-most stolen bases for a career in school history with 89. Sohm sits on 30 runs scored this season, fourth most in school history. The shortstop hit .413 this season with 78 knocks, the sixth most hits for a single season in school history.  She also hit seven doubles, seven triples and two inside-the-park home runs. Unbelievably, she put a home run over the fence in the SAC tournament quarterfinals against Wingate.  Sohm produced a career-long 13-game hitting streak earlier this season.  She has 23 multi-hit games, including a school-record five-hit day against Shorter (Feb. 12).  She drove in a career-high four RBI against both the Hawks and the Catawba Indians.

2021: Sohm wraps up all-league laurels for the first time in her career. The lefty slapper hit .398 for the year with her second and third career triples.  Arguably the fastest player in the conference. Sohm was second in the league with 17 stolen bases in 19 attempts.  A multi-hit machine, Sohm had 11 such days on the year including a quartet of four-hit days.  She tied a school record against Limestone (March 10) when she scored five runs in game two against the Saints. She has only made eight errors at short, tied for the second fewest in the league among short stops.   Sohm was named to the South Atlantic Conference's All-Tournament team. Sohm helped Carson-Newman to a semifinal finish in the conference tournament. The Eagles downed Wingate to open the tournament 7-3 before falling to top-seeded and seventh-ranked Lincoln Memorial 7-2.   The shortstop was 3-for-7 at the plate in the event and got on base 50 percent of the time.  She played error free in the two games.  Sohm started the event with her 12th multi-hit effort of the season before finishing it with a 1-for-4 day against the Railsplitters.  She scored a run against Wingate.

2020: In 18 games in a CoVID-19 shortened season, Sohm logged 18 starts at shortstop and hit .400 for the year.  She amassed 16 hits and 10 walks, the most on the team as a speedy lefty slapper.  Sohm led the team with 12 stolen bases in 13 attempts.  Sohm had a quintet of multi-hit games, including a 3-for-3 effort at North Greenville (2/25).  

2019: Sohm finished her sophomore year third on the team in batting average.  She hit .330 for the year. A lefty slapper, she poked two doubles and drove in six.  From March 30 through April 10, she tallied a six-game hitting streak that brought her average up 70 points.  She collected a quartet of multi-hit efforts in that span.  Sohm started all 41 games for the Eagles at shortstop.  She produced 10 multi-hit efforts and drove in two for the first time in her career against both Tusculum (4/2) and Anderson (5/9) in the regional tournament. Sohm led the team in stolen bases with six swipes in seven attempts.  

2018: Sohm started all 48 games for the Eagles at shortstop in her freshman season. She came on late to hit .295.  Sohm tallied 18 hits in 61 at-bats.  She scored 24 runs.  Sohm, had multi-hit efforts against Mars Hill and New Haven.  She hit a triple against Mount Olive. She stole three bases in one game against the Chargers, two off the single-game school record.  She helped the Eagles walk it off against Limestone by laying down a squeeze bunt in extra innings. 

HIGH SCHOOL: Sohm played for former Carson-Newman All-American Carol Mitchell at Gibbs High School.  The shortstop has hit north of .380 in every year of her high school career.  She has a total of 133 career stolen bases through three seasons. Her best year came in her sophomore season, when she hit .481 with 51 swipes.  She earned first-team All-Prep Extra honors as a sophomore and junior as well as All-KIL and All-State honors.  She was also tabbed to the TSCA All-Academic team as a junior. 

PERSONAL: She is the daughter of Jeff and Erin Sohm and plans to study exercise science at Carson-Newman.  She joins her high school teammate Cheyenne Boles on the roster.
