Bio

2025: The Alcoa native returned to the Carson-Newman lineup in a major way before her season was cut short. After missing all of last season with an injury, Cameron started the first 24 games of the year, but an injury unfortunately caused her to miss the remainder of the season. A consistent piece in the leadoff spot, she finished the year with a .488 average to lead the team. She had career-bests with 10 doubles, five triples, one home run and 27 RBIs. The senior started the year with an eight-game hitting streak (Feb. 1 to Feb. 9), and bookended it with a 12-game stretch (Feb. 18 to Mar. 8). Additionally, Cameron launched her first-career home run against Converse (Feb. 8), it was a go-ahead 2-run home run to propel the Eagles to a 6-5 win, she also set a career-high with seven total bases in that game. A day later, she set a new career-high with 4 RBIs against King (Tenn.). She was also outstanding defensively, often being called "a human highlight reel" by head coach Michael Graves. She had two outfield assists. Despite only playing half of the year, Cameron received All-SAC and All-Region honors for her efforts.

HONORS:

  • All-SAC Second Team OF
  • NFCA All-Region Second Team OF
  • NFCA DII Player of the Year Watch List

2024: Injured, medically redshirted.

2023: Cameron finished the regular season second in the league in batting average with a .460 average.  She wrapped up the year hitting .436. A Tucci/NFCA Player of the Year Watch List member, Cameron has a whopping 19 multi-hit efforts this season. She had 10 two-hit days, six three-hit efforts and her first three career four-hit days. Her four-hit games came against Tusculum (April 11), Newberry (March 18) and Shorter (Feb. 12).  Cameron has only gone longer than seven at-bats without a hit just once this season, and she has only been hitless in consecutive games once. Shockingly, Cameron's longest hitting streak this season is only six games long. However, she has four separate stretches of at least three straight games where she has tallied multi-hit efforts in each contest. The junior has swiped 14 bases in 17 attempts to rank second on the team and eighth in the conference. Ever the dangerous arm in center, she has been credited with a quartet of outfield assists.

HONORS:

  • Preseason All-SAC Second Team OF
  • All-SAC First Team OF
  • Tucci/NFCA Player of the Year Watch List
  • D2CCA All-Region First Team OF
  • NFCA All-Region Second Team OF
  • CSC Academic All-District

2022: Cameron makes her first appearance on an all-region team after a season that has been hampered by a wrist injury which caused her to miss two and a half weeks of action. Even with that, Cameron has the fifth-highest batting average in the league, hitting .401 with 55 hits.  She also stroked eight doubles and legged out five triples.  Carson-Newman is 21-1 this year when Cameron scores a run. She hit safely in 16 consecutive games this season to match the fifth-longest hitting streak in program history. All told she has 14 multi-hit efforts and seven multi-RBI games.  Cameron entered the region tournament having hit safely in eight of her last nine games.

HONORS

  • All-SAC Third Team OF
  • NFCA All-Region First Team

2021: A 30-game starter in the outfield for Carson-Newman, Cameron hit .333 with 24 hits in 72 at bats.  She scored 19 runs and had a pair of doubles with three RBI.  Cameron had seven multi-hit efforts on the year.  She had a pair of four-game hitting streaks.

HIGH SCHOOL: A two-sport athlete from Alcoa where she played soccer in addition to her exploits on the softball diamond.  She hit .521, .541 and .519 her final three years with the Tornados with 42 stolen bases and 14 home runs.  She made all-state as a junior and was named offensive player of the year en route to helping Alcoa to a district title.

PERSONAL: The daughter of Scott and Kory Cameron.
