JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. — Carson-Newman sophomore outside hitter Lindsey Bryant (Gainesville, Ga.) will be heading to Brazil to play volleyball on a mission trip with Athletes in Action from June 16-30.
Bryant and Athletes in Action, which is a campus and pro sports ministry, will play against collegiate and professional teams and also hold clinics for young children.
When asked what she is looking forward to most about traveling with Athletes in Action she said, "I am so excited to spread the Word of God to the people in Brazil. I also am excited to live out how to play for God's glory."
During the trip the athletes will experience a growth in their faith and when asked what area she would like to see improve Bryant stated, "I want to learn how to play for God every time I get on the volleyball court. God has been already teaching me so much and it is only the third day."
The athletes come from all over the country, and when asked how she heard about AIA and why she choose to go on this tour she said, "My parents were involved with Campus Crusade for Christ in college, and so when I was looking for things to do over the summer, my dad found this tour on the website. I decided to go because I have been to Brazil three times with mission trips, so my heart is there. I am so excited to have the opportunity to return and continue to spread God's love."
