Bio
PRIOR TO C-N: Was a three-sport athlete in high school, competing in golf, basketball and baseball. Wentz qualified for the state tournament in golf twice as an individual, was a two-time MVP, and holds almost every record at his high school pertaining to golf. He participated on a team that registered the lowest team score in River Ridge High School history.
PERSONAL: Bowen is the son of Trei and Heidi Wentz. His older brother Brady joined the Carson-Newman golf team the same year as him.

Carson-Newman is in a tie for fourth after the first two rounds of the SAC Men’s Golf Tournament with 18 to play before the cut for the match play segment.
C-N was in a fight with Anderson all day for the final spot in the match play segment of the SAC tournament, but fell just short with bogeys down the stretch to finish 5th.

With multiple weather delays throughout the day, Eagles Men’s Golf fought through to score well at the Ralph Hargett Memorial, getting through 27 holes at Rolling Hills Country Club.
The Eagles dropped from 5th to 8th in the final round of the Ralph Hargett Memorial, tying at +14 with Ferris State.
The junior’s seven-under 65 ties the 2nd lowest round in C-N golf history and helped C-N move up into solo 11th of 17 teams on the final day of the event.
Thanks to help from Wentz’s stellar second round, the Eagles shot two-under in their second 18, landing just outside the top ten.
The Carson-Newman men’s golf team shot a team-best round in the final 18 holes for a two-over showing as a team. That would move them up one spot on the leaderboard to finish 13th.
After shooting 294 in the first round and sitting tied for 7th, the Eagles Men’s golf team fell to 14th place with a 309 in round two.
Carson-Newman men’s golf heads to Gainesville, Georgia for their first 72 holes of the 2025-26 season, where they will compete with six of the top ten teams in the nation for the Mizuno Intercollegiate.
