MONROE, N.C. – With multiple weather delays throughout the day, Eagles Men's Golf fought through to score well at the Ralph Hargett Memorial, getting through 27 holes at Rolling Hills Country Club.

Brady Wentz came out swinging in round one. He began his day on the eighth hole with a par before an eagle at the par-five 9th. He followed that up with a birdie at the 10th to go three-under through three holes. Another birdie found its way on the card at the 369-yard par-four 12th, which was followed by a bogey at the 13th. With a two-under 70, Brady was tied for 11th.

He matched Baker on the 16th and 17th with two birdies to shoot 37 (+1) on the back. Three bogeys in his final 7 holes highlighted by a birdie at the 6th helped him shoot 73 (+1) and slot in 31st.
Bowen Wentz matched his brother on the 561-yard par five with an eagle. He made two more birdies on the 14th and 16th holes and recorded five pars on his final six holes to shoot 75 (+3). Bowen was T48 after 18 holes.
Dylan Frein was looking for consistency, carding five pars through his first eight holes before a birdie at the 14th. He found his only other birdie of the day at the par-five 17th. Frein ended up with a 75 (+3) and was tied for 48th.
Stefans Spruzs played as an individual in the event and began at the par-three 16th. A bogey on his first hole would be negated by a birdie at the par-four 18th. With six pars after that, Spruzs bogeyed the 7th, 10th, and 11th holes to finish at 76 (+4). He was 65th after round one.
The Eagles were in 6th place after the first round at +1 as a team. They made 16 birdies as a team to go along with four eagles. Ian Schoonmaker led C-N with five birdies in round one. The squad lost five strokes on the 406-yard par four 16th.
In round two, Brady Wentz birdied two out of his first three holes, but bogeyed the par-three 11th, par-four 12th and 15th. He will pick up tomorrow at one over in his second 18 tied for 10th. He is -1 overall.
Bowen Wentz started round two with a bogey but quickly made up for it with a birdie at the 9th (he started on hole 7). He followed that up with five straight pars, only making it through 8 holes. He will pick up his second 18 at even-par for the round and +3 overall. He is in 38th.
Dylan Frein parred his first four holes of round two before a birdie at the 10th. Unfortunately, two bogeys after that would put the freshman at +1 for the round and four-over for the tournament. He will pick up tomorrow in 45th place.
Ian Schoonmaker made four pars through the first five holes and recorded back to back birdies on the 13th and 14th holes before a bogey at the 15th. He parred his final hole of the day to start off at even par through the first nine holes of his second 18. He will pick up tomorrow at one-over and sits in 22nd place.
Theo Baker bogeyed the 8th hole, but circled both the 12th and 13th holes. He bogeyed his final hole of the first 9 for a score of even par through the start of round two. Baker is tied with Brady Wentz at 10th and is -1 for the tournament.
Stefans Spruzs birdied the par four 17th but bookended it with two bogeys. Following four pars, a couple of bogeys would end his first nine at +3. This makes Spruzs seven-over for the tournament and in 64th.
Carson-Newman is just two-over as a team and is tied for 5th in the 17-team field with #9 Catawba. The Eagles are four strokes out of the top three. Wingate currently leads the tournament with an outstanding -16 team tally. Wingate Alfie Storer is leading the event at eight-under.
