Cheer and Dance set quartet of clinics for July 11
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Carson-Newman's cheer and dance teams will play host to a quartet of clinics on July 11th in the MSAC 3-Gym.
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Carson-Newman's cheer and dance teams will play host to a quartet of clinics on July 11th in the MSAC 3-Gym.
From 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Both cheer and dance will have clinics aimed at high school aged cheerleaders and dancers.
The summer intensive dance clinic will teach jazz technique and jazz combo with guest choreographer Grace King. Dancers will also work on gamey and national pom combo with current C-N dance team members.
Meanwhile, cheer will run a high-school aged material and stunt clinic concurrently. Cheerleaders will work on fight song, sideline and band chants. Additional skills will include stunting, including group, co-ed, baskets and pyramids. Cheerleaders will have an opportunity to showcase tunbling and jumps.
Both high school clinics cost 40 dollars. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. on July 11.
Both cheer and dance will have seperate junior clinics following from 2-4 p.m. the same day. Those clinics are designed for children from kindergarten to eighth grade. The cheer clinic will follow modified skills that the high school cheerleaders learned earlier in the day. The dance clinic will teach a pom dance and techniques based on dancer ability. Both clinics are 25 dollars.
