Robertson's Rundown: November 9, 2015
Hi my loves! If you have been keeping up with our record you already know that this past week was an extremely successful week for the Eagles! With Senior Day being this week, we are cherishing every moment we have with one another. We had an amazing weekend on the road to South Carolina and I love the fact that we continue to make the most unforgettable memories with one another!
The thing I love the most about being a part of the team is how much fun we all have together. If you were to meet all of us freshies together, you would instantly know that we are all so different from one another. Not only from where we grew up, but also just personalities in general. I think that the fact that we are all so different is what also makes us all so close though. I have honestly never been around a more amazing group of girls and ive never loved a group of girls so much in my life.
If I could give every person in the world the chance to be a fly on the wall and witness some of the things we do together I honestly would because I feel sorry that the rest of the world doesn't get to experience what I do on a daily basis. There is never a dull moment in burnette 1st south. Being able to each bring our unique personalities together gives us all the ability to have the most fun with one another. Don't get me wrong, though, with all of us being so different you can almost always count on some sort of debate between some of us. These little tussles range from tackling each other in the hallways to get to one of the two warm showers, to tearing each other's fridges apart to see who has milk that isn't expired yet.
My personal favorite debates, however, are the ones that we all have regarding where we are from. For example, I have grown up calling a shopping cart a buggy only to come here to be told that is the most ridiculous thing they have ever heard before. Another one of my personal favorites as well is the argument over pronunciation of words. Apparently I've been saying the words "ice, sprite, and white" incorrectly my whole entire life not putting enough emphasis on the "I's" in the words. Since we spent a little of our summer exploring Chicago and seeing where Maddie Zyburt was from, I found it only fair that I take her home this weekend for a true taste of the south. I don't know who was fascinated more, Maddie at the way all of my friends talked, or my friends at the way Maddie talked. We spent the weekend exploring little Soddy Daisy and teaching Maddie some southern ways. I think she was a little on the fence about everything until my mom cooked her a true country home cooked meal and then she was finally turned.
Learning how all of these girls grew up is one of my favorite things about being with them. From Allie owning a pig named Turnip to Megan getting to spend every day out on the beach in Charleston, I honestly can never get tired of learning about these amazing girls every day. I am so grateful to be a part of this team and to have gotten to meet these wonderful girls! The friendships we have made are something we will always have. With the regular season coming to a quick end and tournament play coming up, we are buckling down together to finish this season the way we originally set out to. We are going to play for the girl next to us, and put the WE before ME.
Love always,
