Griffin's group postpones trip to Newberry
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Due to issues with Covid-19 management requirements consistent with the South Atlantic Conference from Newberry, Carson-Newman will have an open weekend postponing its road trip to the Smith Road Complex leaving a vacancy in the schedule after two league series.

Per SAC protocols updated in December found here, a positive test in the team's "inner bubble" prompts a quarantine until contact tracing and testing can be completed. Individuals with a positive test or a high-risk contact must quarantine for 14 days with a 3-5 day acclimatization period to follow. The Eagles torched UVA Wise a week ago cranking out a .480 team batting average during the four-game series crushing seven home runs and scoring 45 runs in 25 innings. The showing propelled coach Tom Griffin's club to the elite level of Division II as the team is top 10 nationally in six different categories upping its team batting average to .350.
There are no make-up dates at this point with updates available as soon as they become available. Carson-Newman is slated to return to the diamond on Saturday, March 20, at 11 a.m. with the first game of four against Queens at the Silver Diamond Baseball Complex.
