Senior Nicklaus Kennedy (London, Ontario, Canada) won last year's Fall Invitational after a four-hole playoff in which the then-junior used four-consecutive pars to win the tournament over a player from Georgia Southwestern; the team placed fourth in 2014.
Senior Andrew Hall (Knoxville, Tenn.) headlines the five-man team for the Fall Invite after his tie for second at last week's Saint Leo's Invitational. The senior shot the lowest 54-hole tournament in the history of the South Atlantic Conference with a 14-under 202 score. Through his first five rounds of play, Hall averages 69.6 strokes per round, which is tied for eighth in Division-II.
Kennedy and Jace Devault (Bluff City, Tenn.) are the two other seniors traveling and they are joined by junior Dalton Reese (Warrenton, Ga.) and freshman Jake Headrick (Maryvill, Tenn.).
The Eagles will be joined by Catawba, Coker and Newberry out of the South Atlatntic Conference, while a multitude of Peach Belt Conference foes will compete including: host North Georgia, reigning champions Lander, Georgia Southwestern, Clayton State, Columbus State, Georgia College, Montevallo, Young Harris, Lee and South Carolina – Aiken. The Gulf South Conference's West Georgia, Shorter and West Alabama will also be in the field of competitors.
Achasta Golf Club was designed by golf legend Jack Nicklaus and opened in 2000. The par-72, 6,967-yard course blends harmoniously with its surroundings and is situated in the foothills of the North Georgia Mountains and runs along the Chestatee River; the river comes into play on over half of the 18 holes. Achasta has hosted multiple PGA events and the 2003 U.S. Open qualifier.
The 54-hole Fall Invitational tees off Monday morning with 36 holes set to be played on the first day of the event and the final 18 being conducted on Tuesday. Results and a daily recap will be available on cneagles.com.
