The #8 Catawba Indians bested the Eagles in the SAC Quarterfinals with a 5-0 final.
The Eagles beat the Wolves 4-1 to earn the 8th seed at the conference tournament next week.

Carson-Newman Men’s Tennis opened its SAC schedule with a 0-4 loss to the Bears and moves to 1-5 on the year.
Carson-Newman Men’s Tennis dropped a 2-5 decision to Young Harris on Sunday morning at the LMU Tennis Facility, moving to 1-3 on the young season.
Following a challenging start to the season, the men’s tennis team refocused to grab the 4-3 victory over the Tornado. With the win C-N improves to 1-2 on the year.
Despite taking the doubles point, C-N fell short in singles to drop 2nd match of the season against Montreat.
In their official season opener, men’s tennis falls 0-4 to the University of the Cumberlands.
After a remarkable finish that included an upset victory in last season’s SAC Tournament, men’s tennis was projected 4th in the preseason poll, voted on by coaches around the conference.
The two returners and transfer student are slated to make a major impact on the Eagles, who are projected fourth in the conference preseason poll.
Eagle’s tennis opens the season in early February, looking to get back to the SAC semifinals.
