JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn.— Coach Tony Parrilla announced his teams' 2015 schedule, which features meets in four different states along with a multitude of Division-I competition.
"I decided to do something a little bit different this year instead of just crossing the mountain and having the majority of them [meets] over there in North Carolina," Parrilla said. "I wanted to stay on this side and have a fresh new crop of competition."
The Eagles will host one meet and take part in another in east Tennessee, as well as travel north across the state line to Kentucky for the Greater Louisville Classic and the Fast Cats Classic. Carson-Newman will also travel to South Carolina for the Furman Invitation.
"Going to Louisville, that is one of the biggest meets in the country for any division," Parrilla added. "So we are going to get to see how we compete against Division-I, II, and III schools, as well as NAIA schools."
Parrilla has added many new faces to his rosters this season, including 10 freshman and four transfer athletes.
"I think I have recruited the right people," Parrilla said. "I've got a whole lot of alpha monkeys that are really running things together and what I love about that is how they are pushing everyone."
Carson-Newman will begin their regular season at the Victor Ashe Meet on September 5th, after competing in their annual inner quad Orange/Blue meet on August 29th.
