Cross country will begin season at Victor Ashe Fall Classic
The Carson-Newman cross country team will kick off its 2015 season at Victor Ashe Fall Classic, Saturday in Knoxville, Tenn.
"I'm looking forward to see how we come together as a revamped group and how we stack up to the competition," coach Tony Parrilla said of his team. "The focus is building a strong foundation and it has already started."
The Eagles, who competed in the annual Blue/Orange Meet last weekend, have rested and refocused this week in preparation for the season opener.
"This has been a solid week carrying on the momentum from the Blue/Orange Meet," Parrilla added. "We will all be tired but haven't lost sight of the build up to the conference meet."
Last September, Lachlan Dickie (Knoxville, Tenn.) led the way for the Eagles in the Victor Ashe Fall Classic, posting a 16.54.77 time in the five-kilometer run. The sophomore will try and duplicate the success on Saturday.
The Victor Ashe Fall Classic will play host to around ten schools who come from a number of divisions and will begin at 9 a.m.
