Eagles picked ninth in preseason poll

Rock Hill, S.C.—Where the Carson-Newman men's cross country team finished last season is where the 2015 squad will begin as the Eagles were picked ninth in the South Atlantic Conference polls Thursday morning.
"If we end up finishing ninth, I think the wheels would have fallen off," coach Tony Parrilla said in reaction to the polls. "We are really going to show some great improvement and we have brought in a great group of guys."
The Eagles only return five runners from their roster a year ago, which includes Lachlan Dickie (Knoxville, Tenn.). Dickie recorded a team best 18th finish in the SAC Championship Meet last October.
