Ashby 11th, Eagles tied for seventh after first round at Kiawah Island Invitational
KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - Carson-Newman's Liam Ashby (Dublin, Ireland) is tied for 11th after an even-par opening round, and the Eagles are tied for seventh, at the Kiawah Island Invitational played Monday on the South Carolina coast. Hay sits at even par (72) and is four strokes off the lead. He leads teammate Jonathan Kim-Moss (Mississauga, Canada)by a stroke. Moss is tied for 15th.

Ashby sits at even par (72) and is four strokes off the lead. He leads teammate Jonathan Kim-Moss (Mississauga, Canada)by a stroke. Moss is tied for 15th.
The Eagles fired a team 298 (+10) and are tied with the University of South Carolina, Beaufort
for seventh in a 16-team field.
Georgia Southwestern leads by nine after the opening round after shooting 284 (-4) as a team. It leads USC Aiken (293), which C-N trails by only five for second place.
Junior Gavin Hay (Glasgow, Scotland) is tied for 37th after he shot a 76 (+4) in the opening round, while senior Alex Coughlin (Jefferson City, Tenn.) shot a 77 in the opening round and Jordan Patrick (Abingdon, Va.) fired a 78 (+6).
The second and final round of the Eighth Annual Kiawah Island Invitational is scheduled to get underway at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 6.
