Carson-Newman one stroke back heading into Tuesday’s final round at Tanglewood Intercollegiate
Clemmons, N.C. – The Carson-Newman Eagles sit one stroke off the lead heading into Tuesday’s final round of the Will Wilson Tanglewood Intercollegiate played at Tanglewood Park Golf Club. The Eagles sit at a two-round total of 577 (+17), one stroke behind UNC Pembroke and Wingate. C-N leads fourth-place Newberry by 10 in the nine team field.

The Eagles sit at a two-round total of 577 (+17), one stroke behind UNC Pembroke and Wingate. C-N leads fourth-place Newberry by 10 in the nine team field.
C-N totaled 284 (+4) as a team during Monday's second round. It was the second lowest team round of the tournament to this point.
Senior Liam Ashby (Dublin, Ireland) is in a tie for fourth at 1-over (141) after a 69 in Monday's round. Ashby trails UNC Pembroke's Jordan Walor by three strokes for the lead.
Junior Gavin Hay (Glasgow, Scotland) and sophomore Jonathan Kim Moss (Mississaugua, Canada) are within striking distance of the lead. The two sit tied for 10th at 3-over. Kim-Moss rallied from an opening round 74 (+4) with a 1-under 69 on Monday. Hay shot a 71 on Sunday and followed with a 72 on Tuesday.
Senior Alex Coughlin (Jefferson City, Tenn.) is 21st after a 7-ver 77 on Monday. He shot a 73 in the opening round and sits at 150 (+10) for the tournament.
Sophomore Michael Horenkamp (Abingdon, Va.) slipped with an 81 on Monday after an opening round 75 (+5) in Sunday's round.
The Eagles will tee off on Tuesday for the final round beginning with Horenkamp off first in the 10:05 a.m. tee time.
