LADY LAKE, Fla. – Former Carson-Newman men’s golfer Tom Forster picked up his best finish of his professional career thus far with a seventh-place showing at The Challenge at Harbor Hills on Friday.
LADY LAKE, Fla. – Former Carson-Newman men's golfer Tom Forster picked up his best finish of his professional career thus far with a seventh-place showing at The Challenge at Harbor Hills on Friday.
The Northamptonshire, England native went 13-under through the three rounds of play, just four shots shy of the lead. He shot back-to-back five-under rounds in the last two rounds, improving from his three-under 67 on the first day.
"Our whole Eagle family is extremely proud of the great start Tom has had to his professional career," C-N head coach Randy Wylie said.
This latest finish marks the best Forster has seen in the five events he has played, making the cut in a trio of those. This week's event allowed him to qualify for the Local IQ tour championship.
Forster started his professional career in March after qualifying for the Mackenzie Tour – PGA Canada with a one-under, fifth-place showing in the qualifier. In his career donning the Orange and Blue, he was a four-time All-South Atlantic Conference first-team selection and a three-time All-American.
