Wylie’s group moves up to 20th in Golfstat ranking

INDIANAPOLIS – With its latest top-five finish at the Tennessee River Rumble, Carson-Newman slid up to 20th in the nation in the newest ranking released on Tuesday evening.
This is the first time C-N has crossed the top-20 threshold since Feb. 12, 2020, sitting at 17th in that list.
The Eagles have been in the top-25 for three of the last four rankings from the ratings and rankings system. They moved up three spots from last week's 23rd spot on the list. This is one of the two national rankings there are currently in the top-25 of. They made their return to the Bushnell Golf Week Coaches Poll for the first time in over a year, debuting at No. 22 on March 27.
Throughout the regular season, the Orange and Blue garnered three top-five finishes. Both of the final two events came with fourth-place showings, the highest of the season.
At the Tennessee River Rumble, head coach Randy Wylie's unit matched its lowest single-round score of the season with a 281 in the final round. The group shot an even 864 for a share of fourth, just one shot shy of a top-three placement.
Three other South Atlantic Conference teams currently sit in the top 25 of the Golfstat list. Lincoln Memorial sits at fourth while Limestone and Wingate check-in at No. 13 and No. 24, respectively.
Carson-Newman gets back to action in just over two weeks when it heads to Tazewell, Tenn. for the South Atlantic Conference Championship. That three-day event starts on April 18 at the Woodlake Golf Club.
