ALLENDALE, Mich. — Carson-Newman freshman Mary Tunnell (Memphis, Tenn.) fell back two spots to 30th placed despite shooting her best round of the tournament, a 3-over-par 75, on Friday in the third round of the 2011 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships at The Meadows in Allendale, Mich.

ALLENDALE, Mich. – Carson-Newman’s Mary Tunnell (Memphis, Tenn.) is tied for 28th place after firing a six-over par 78 in the second round of the NCAA Division II Golf Championships on Thursday in Allendale, Mich. Tunnell sits in a six-way tie for 28th with 36 holes to play. Tunnell, along with 21 other golfers, are three strokes or fewer out of the top 15.

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. — The Carson-Newman women's golf program has signed two student-athletes for the 2011-12 season, head coach Amanda Moore announced Friday. Chelsea Passmore (Knoxville, Tenn.) and Jessica Kubalak (Franklin, Tenn.) have both signed National Letters of Intent to join the Lady Eagles next season.

Lakeland, Fla. – Carson-Newman’s Jessica Tarbet (Corryton, Tenn.) and Jennifer Oliver (Knoxville, Tenn.)are in a five-way tie for 11th after firing matching 76’s, lifting the Lady Eagles into fourth place after the first round of the 2011 South Regional Tournament played Sunday at The Club at Eaglebrooke in Lakeland, Fla. C-N shot a team 309 (+21) and sits in a tie with Florida Southern University at fourth.

CONOVER, N.C. – The Carson-Newman Lady Eagles fired a final round 310 (+22) to rally from a nine-stroke deficit and claim the 2011 South Atlantic Conference Tournament title played Tuesday afternoon on the Jackson Course at Rock Barn Golf Club in Conover, N.C. The tournament title in C-N’s second in just three seasons as a Division II program. Carson-Newman won the SAC title in its first season, 2009.
