C-N men’s golfer Kim-Moss in second after round one of Smoky Mountain Intercollegiate
SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. – Junior men’s golfer Jonathan Kim-Moss (Mississauga, Canada) fired a three under 69 to finish in second place after day one of the Smoky Mountain Intercollegiate. Overall, Carson-Newman sits in eight place, 11 back of round one leaders Columbus State and Belmont Abbey. The Eagles are +13 at 301 for the tournament.

Kim-Moss did all his work on the back nine. He was even at the turn before finishing the back nine at three under. Only two other golfers had more birdies than Kim-Moss' five. Furthermore, only two other golfers in the field of 84 played the par fives at the Sevierville Golf Club better than Kim-Moss, who was three under on the course's four longest holes.
Nathan Hodge finished the day tied for 31st with a four over 76. A stroke behind him is Rafael Jackson, who shot 77 in round one.
Day two of the Smoky Mountain Intercollegiate begins at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
