Jack Browder (Basketball at Lander):
Buoyed by his second career 30-15 game, Carson-Newman senior forward Jack Browder earned SAC and TSWA player of the week honors following an Eagle win at Lander. He produced his sixth career game with at least 30 points and his third career game with at least 15 rebounds. The Kingsport, Tenn.-native is the only player in school history with a 30-15 game, let alone two. Against Lander, he produced an even 30-15. The senior connected on 10-of-21 shots and 5-of-8 threes. He was 5-for-6 at the charity stripe. Browder also dished out a pair of assists and had a steal.
Braden Ilic (Basketball v. Augusta):
Braden Ilic reset the Carson-Newman and South Atlantic Conference's single-game block record with 10. He did it in C-N's 66-58 win over Augusta. Carson-Newman had 11 blocks as a team to tie the program's single-game record. Ilic also had four points, and led the team with nine boards and three assists.
Rylan Houck (Basketball v. Lees-Mcrae):
Houck went ballistic in Carson-Newman's 98-79 thrashing of Lees-McRae. He scored 25 points in absurdly efficient fashion. He was 10-of-11 from the field and drilled his only three. He was also 4-of-5 from the stripe. He snagged seven boards and dished out two assists.
Isaac Bohleber (Football v. Tusculum):
linebacker Isaac Bohleber closed up shop on his C-N career with a career-best in tackles. The senior turned in a 10-tackle performance in Carson-Newman's 26-0 Senior Day shutout of Tusculum. The Knoxville, Tenn.-product had the only double-digit tackle day by an Eagle all season in the win. Five of his stops were of the solo variety, while he also logged a half tackle for loss. The Eagles limited the Pioneers to 189 yards of offense en route to their first shutout since 2022 and their first over Tusculum since 2005.
Isaiah Cane (Football v. Catawba):
Cane had a pick, three tackles and two pass breakups in Carson-Newman's 24-16 win over Catawba. His interception came nicely, with 69 seconds remaining, preserving the Eagles' win over the Catawba Indians. The Eagles held Catawba 20 points below their season scoring average and to 4-of-13 on third down against a team that was leading the nation in third down efficiency. Catawba scored just one touchdown in five trips into the red zone as well, with Cane's INT ending the final drive.
Zane Whitson (Football v. UVA Wise):
Whitson was hyper efficient with what he did with the football in Saturday's 35-14 Homecoming win over UVA Wise. The senior signal-caller scored five touchdowns on 12 total offensive attempts while rushing for 133 yards and passing for 61. He scored three rushing touchdowns and two via the air. The five totals TDs are the most since Derrick Evans scored a school record five rushing touchdowns at Lenoir-Rhyne in 2017. Whitson carried the ball nine times for 133 yards for his second career 100-yard rushing performance and the 386th all-time 100-yard rushing performance in school history. He was 2-for-3 through the air for the two scores and 61 yards. He finished with 194 yards of total offense.
Cruz Temple (Football at Anderson):
Temple tallied nine tackles, a tackle for loss and three quarterback hurries in Carson-Newman's 28-6 win at Anderson. C-N limited AU to 270 yards of offense in the game. While Temple did not register a sack, he was part of an overwhelming presence in the backfield that did sack AU QB Tyler Wesley four times and pressured him with 15 quarterback hurries.
Zane Whitson (Football v. Lenoir-Rhyne):
Whitson was instrumental in guiding Carson-Newman to a 24-7 win over No. 19/17 Lenoir-Rhyne. The Dobyns-Bennett product became the first C-N QB to rush for more than 150 yards in a game since 2019. Whitson tallied 177 yards on the ground with two touchdowns on 22 carries. Whitson turned in the 46th all-time 100-yard rushing performance by a C-N QB. Whitson had exactly 300 yards of total offense when factoring in his 7-of-9 day through the air for 123 yards passing. He completed a 45-yard pass to Cade Meeks for a third TD on the day. The senior's 63-yard fourth quarter run following a second lightning delay sealed the game for the Eagles.
Antoine Torrent (Soccer at LMU):
Torrent scored his first career brace against Lincoln Memorial on October 22. Both of his goals came in the second half, scoring in the 52nd and 70th minutes. Both goals also gave C-N the lead. Torrent needed just five total shots to score his two goals, making both shots that were on target.
Cadence Dolgin (Track & Field at VMI Bev Colonel Read Opener):
Dolgin made a statement in his collegiate debut, setting a new Carson-Newman record at the VMI Colonel Bev Read Opener. Besting assistant Coach Sam Cleek in the Carson-Newman indoor track & field history books with his pole vault performance on Saturday at the VMI Colonel Bev Read Opener. The freshman broke the C-N pole vault record, clearing a height of 4.70 meters to take first place in the event. The Freshman was later named the WePlayed Sports South Atlantic Conference's Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week on December 9.
