Fall Frosty Awards Nominees: Female Performance of the Year

The 13th annual Frosty Awards will take place April 28 and honor athletic excellence in Carson-Newman's athletic department.

Molly Bukiewicz (Soccer at King):
Bukiewicz scored or assisted on three of Carson-Newman's five goals in a 5-0 win over King on September 10th. The graduate student recorded her first career brace and added an assist for a career-best five-point day. Both of her goals were C-N's first two in the win, coming less than 10 minutes apart in the 14th and 23rd minutes.
Selina Jud (Soccer at Mars Hill):
Recording her fourth career brace, Jud helped lead Carson-Newman to a 5-0 shutout win over Mars Hill on September 24th. She scored her two goals on four shot attempts, scoring in the 26th and 67th minutes. Jud's attacking effort helped C-N draw a season-high 12 corner kicks as well.
Olivia Henry (Soccer at Wingate):
In her first career start, Henry posted a six-save clean sheet over Wingate. She was the first Eagle goalkeeper in the past 20 seasons, to post a shutout in their first career start. Henry did so by recording six stops, the second-most by a C-N goalie in their first career start. Her incredible effort in the net earned her South Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career.
Felicia Frick (Soccer vs Tusculum):
Frick made her final game at McCown Field one to remember. She recorded her first career hat trick and the program's first since 2021 in a 4-0 win over Tusculum on November 5th. Her first and third goals scored were penalty kicks in the 10th and 68th minutes. The three-time all SAC midfielder's second goal was in live play, dribbling around a defender to slice a shot past the Tusculum keeper.
Keirieonna Wilson (SAC Championship):
At the SAC Championships, Wilson led the Eagles women's squad getting first place on the team and 13th overall with a time 24:30.4 in the 6k race. With her performance, Wilson earned Second Team All-SAC honors.
Emerson Ahsmuhs (Volleyball vs Francis Marion):
In the opening game of the USC Aiken Tournament, it was Ahsmuhs' arm that powered the Eagles through, picking up eight kills in the fourth and final set to amass a team-leading 22 kills in the game. That mark tied the 5th best in C-N history for kills in a four-set match, and the sophomore hit .373 on the match. She also collected 26 digs in the game with two blocks as a crucial piece on defense. Ahsmuhs is one of five players in volleyball's history to record a 20-kill, 20-dig game.
Emerson Ahsmuhs (Volleyball at Lee):
Ahsmuhs tied her career high in kills in the five-set match with 22 and led the way in hitting percentage as well, hitting .360 on the night. She also carried the Eagles defense with 21 digs, good for her sixth double-double of the season. She tacked on two blocks for the nightcap Ahsmuhs is one of five players in volleyball's history to record a 20-kill, 20-dig game.
Maddie Hurst (Volleyball vs Newberry):
In the four-set win over Newberry, Hurst was the kill leader on the floor with 22 kills and hitting a school record single game match high .677. She made just one error on 31 swings. She delivered eight kills in the final set, including the finishing blow to send C-N on a five-game winning streak into the postseason. This was Hurst's fifth game in a row with 10 or more kills.
Madde Hurst (Volleyball vs Catawba):
Hurst logged 20 kills in the five-set effort and hit a team-high .429. She was also the leader on the blocking front, notching a season high seven blocks. This was Hurst's 6th game in a row with 10+ kills and her first game of the season with five or more blocks.
Blair Cherry (Volleyball vs Catawba):
Blair Cherry put up 51 assists to go along with 12 digs in the five-set win over Catawba. She helped orchestrate the Eagles offense to a .246 hitting percentage mark as a team, and helped out on the offensive front with five kills and a team-leading four service aces. The junior chipped in 2 blocks in the effort.
Blair Cherry (Volleyball vs Lincoln Memorial):
All of the action at the net was expertly navigated by the setter in the three-set sweep, who hit a milestone in the match. With her 10th assist in the contest, Cherry officially moved into the 5th spot in career assists in Carson-Newman volleyball history. The setter was the 15th Eagle in history to hit 1,000 assists in a single season, and one of six C-N players to dish 2,500 assists over her career. She had 38 in the contest against LMU, which lands her in the top-ten in CNVB history in assists in a three set match. She also helped the Eagles to a .358 hitting percentage, their third-best mark of the season. She added four kills, three digs, and a block in the win.
Blair Cherry (Volleyball vs Coker):
With the five set win against Coker, Cherry tied the school record for assists in a single game with 61 and beat her career high by five. She grabbed her 34th double-double of her career as well, with 10 digs. She chipped in three kills and a block in the match that ended on an assist to Maddie Hurst.
Jennifer Sullivan (Basketball vs #14 North Georgia):
Sullivan recorded her third straight 20 plus point game by scoring 26 points on efficient 10 for 17 shooting in a eight-point win over #14 North Georgia on November 25th. She erupted for 18 of those points in the second half, making seven field goals. Sullivan made four three-pointers, dished out five assists and grabbed two rebounds.
Emily Gonzalez (Basketball vs Catawba):
Gonzalez had a career day in C-N's first SAC game of the season. She reset her career-high for a second consecutive game, scoring 22 points on six for 13 shooting. 16 of her 22 points came in the first and fourth quarters. The senior guard also snared down a career-high nine rebounds, dished out four assists and had two steals.
Anaelle Picot (Golf at LeeAnn Noble Memorial):
Picot was the shining light for C-N this week with a 7th-place finish and a three-day total of three under. Her rounds of 69 (-3), 70 (-2), and 74 (+2) led the Eagles and marked Picot's 3rd top ten finish of her career. This tournament smashed her previous 54-hole low score by 11 strokes and boosted her 92 spots in the national rankings.
Emery Fisher (Golf at Savannah Lakes Invite):
Fisher set the lowest 54-hole score of the season at the Savannah Lakes Invitational with rounds of 69 (-3), 73 (+1), and a final round of 69 (-3). Her consistent play sent the race for the individual title into a playoff, where Fisher would win a playoff against the #10 ranked player in the nation. Fisher stuck her approach shot to six feet in the extra hole and lipped out her putt, but would close out the tournament regardless. Fisher is the first Eagle to win an individual title since Hannah Holland won the Music City Invitational on Halloween in 2023. The Savannah Lakes tournament marks the junior's first win of her career. This bested her previous 54-hole score by 13 strokes. With the win, she was boosted 45 spots in the national rankings.
Maria del Mar Sarda Marti & Kira Baacke (Tennis at ITA Regionals)
Mar Sarda was coming off an All-SAC spring and teamed up with the sophomore Baacke, to win four matches across a three-day period.
On a foggy morning in Sumter, South Carolina, Carson-Newman's pair was more than up to the challenge. Concluding their charge through the ITA Women's Doubles Flight B Bracket with an 8-5 win over Bera Castello and Irina Furtuna from Middle Georgia State College in the Championship.
