Post sees his ITA run end as he falls in the Round of 32
Alexandre Post was the lone Eagle on the men's side to advance past the first round at this year's ITA Southeast Regional
SUMTER, S.C. – The second day of the ITA Southeast Regional saw a tough performance from the Carson-Newman men's tennis team
The opening day featured Alexandre Post advancing to the Round of 32, marking the highlight of the day. After defeating Peru Bayo, 6-3, 6-4, he moved on to the next round. His Round of 32 match against North Georgia's Pedro Liborio was scheduled for Friday, but heavy rain and thunderstorms passed through the Sumter area, causing Day 1 to end in a delay.
As Saturday began, so did the match between Liborio and Post. It was North Georgia's man that answered the call on the restart, winning in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2.
That brought Carson-Newman's run to a close at this year's ITA Southeast Regional.
Nathan Gangelhoff's squad will have a couple of weeks off before they return to action on October 16, hosting the Eagle Invitational.
