C-N Preps For SAC Championship Week
Carson-Newman swim teams will compete at the South Atlantic Conference Swimming Championships Feb. 4–7 at the Kingsport Aquatic Center in Kingsport, Tenn.
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman swim teams will compete at the South Atlantic Conference Swimming Championships Feb. 4–7 at the Kingsport Aquatic Center in Kingsport, Tenn.
The four-day championship will follow a daily schedule with preliminary sessions beginning at 10 a.m. each morning. Finals will take place at 5 p.m. each evening, with results from both sessions contributing to team scoring.
The Eagles enter the meet ranked nationally in the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) January poll. The Carson-Newman men are ranked No. 22, while the women are ranked No. 23. Conference competition features several nationally ranked programs, including Wingate, whose men are ranked No. 6 and women are ranked No. 8, and Catawba, with both the men's and women's teams ranked No. 10.
Carson-Newman will compete for conference titles through individual and relay events. Points are awarded based on finals finishes, with top-eight placements carrying the highest scoring impact.
The South Atlantic Conference Swimming Championships begin Wednesday, Feb. 4, and conclude Saturday, Feb. 7.
