C-N Travels To Emory Invitational For The Fifth Year In A Row
Eagles are set to take on the Emory Invitational seeing multiple nationally ranked teams over the weekend
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman swimming hits the road for a two-day trip to the Emory Invitational at the Madeleine Jude Brown Aquatic Center in Atlanta, Ga., beginning Friday, Nov. 7 at 6:00 p.m. and continuing through Saturday, Nov. 8 at 11:00 a.m.
"This is always a really fun meet," said head coach Ben Young. "With the timing of it and the weather starting to turn colder, sickness can become an issue, so it's always a meet where we're not quite sure what we're going to get out of it."
The Eagles are making their fifth straight trip to the Emory Invitational, a meet where both the men's and women's teams have found consistent success at the Madeleine Jude Brown Aquatic Center.
"Emory and Wingate are fantastic programs, and we're going to get some solid racing out of it," Young said. "I'm super excited to go down there — it feels like we've been going for fifteen thousand years — but it's a beautiful pool and campus. It's another great opportunity to get a pulse on where we are heading into midseason."
Coming off a dominant performance at Mars Hill in October, the Eagles are rounding into midseason form in the pool.
"It goes full circle with where we expect certain swimmers to be from meet to meet," Young said. "For this meet, we have some people getting up and swimming the mile for the first time, and we're looking for that upper group to really attack some events they haven't raced yet."
Carson-Newman will compete at the Emory Invitational in Atlanta, Ga., Nov. 7–8 at the Madeleine Jude Brown Aquatic Center.
