Eagles Shine on Day Two at Gamecock Invitational
Eagles end day two of the Gamecock Invitational with multiple PBs and standout performances across multiple finals events
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Carson-Newman swimming wrapped up the second day of competition at the Gamecock Invitational at the Carolina Natatorium in Columbia, S.C.
Head coach Ben Young noted a significant improvement in mindset and execution between days one and two, highlighting the team's ability to adjust and stay true to their training.
"After day one, we had a long conversation about executing our race strategies and being able to adapt to the environment," Young said. "Day two showed a major change in attitude and approach, and it really paid off."
Following Wednesday morning's prelims, the Eagles advanced several swimmers into that evening's finals.

"All our ladies dropped a ton of time, either at or around season-best marks. We were fantastic on that side," Young said. "Emma Bowling hitting a lifetime best in the 100 Fly (57.12) was huge—she executed the race strategy perfectly."

"Gabriel Morales' 21.63 split on the 200 Medley Relay was the second-fastest in program history, and he was first at the wall," Young said. "Will Humphreys also hit a lifetime best in the 100 Fly (47.75), his first time under 48. It was a big moment for him and continues to show why he's a captain."
The Eagles return to the pool for day three of the Gamecock Invitational at the Carolina Natatorium, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
