Grace Lambert finishes final round at even par to help women’s golf finish 13th at the NCAA DII South Regional Preview

CLEVELAND, Tenn. – Lambert would shoot her second round of the year in the 70s while a few scores from C-N in the low eighties would slot the Eagles 13th in the 16-team field.
Lambert started her day with two birdies on the 14th and 15th holes before a bogey on 17. The freshman battled through four bogeys on the back nine and would contest those holes over par with three birdies to make up for it. Lambert would wrap up her round with a birdie on the 11th and a bogey on the 12th to come in at even par. She would finish with a three-day total of +10 and jump up 19 spots on the final day to land 21st overall.
Emery Fisher was the next best finisher for women's golf. The junior was leading the tournament coming into the day, but recorded six pars and two birdies, coupled with two double bogeys on the 4th and 5th holes. Her round of ten-over 82 would mark her for a +9 weekend and to finish inside the top 20 at 17th overall.
Anaelle Picot had the second-best round of Tuesday, recording a nine-over 81. Picot would make two birdies on the par five 14th and the par five 7th, but would log two doubles on the 12th and 13th. Her overall +17 was good for 46th in the field.
The individual Madison Miller was in the 70s as well. With just two bogeys on the front, the freshman would go out with a 38, but the back nine was tumultuous. Miller grabbed three pars, five bogeys, and a birdie to shoot 40 on the second nine and card a 78. She would finish 58th overall with a total of +19 over the 72 holes.
Rylee Tucker and Parker Miller finished the event with an 83 and 82, respectively. Parker Miller would birdie the par-four eighth, but would not find any other helpers. Miller's three-day total was +47 for 93rd, and Tucker would finish +44 over the three rounds for 91st.
As a team, the Eagles finished +78 throughout the 72-hole event, which was bested by Wingate, who ultimately won the event with a three-day total of +13.
The Carson-Newman women's golf team is back in action on September 22 and 23 when they travel to McCormick, South Carolina for the Savannah Lakes Invitational.
