Simmons’ hat trick leads UAH to 5-1 victory over C-N
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Carson-Newman (6-8-2) men’s soccer team returned to Jefferson City grieving a 5-1 loss to Alabama-Huntsville (12-3-1) Wednesday night.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Carson-Newman (6-8-2) men's soccer team returned to Jefferson City grieving a 5-1 loss to Alabama-Huntsville (12-3-1) Wednesday night.
Kyle Simmons of UAH put up his first of three goals in the fifth minute of action. Six minutes later, Hermann Bjornsson provided his team with an unassisted goal by collecting the second save rebound by C-N keeper Kavi Luchowa (England).
The match entered halftime 2-0 in favor of the Chargers. In the 59th minute, Simmons scored his second goal assisted again by Anthony Benitez. Simmons got his third off a penalty kick in the 72nd.
Marius Staalby (Norway) scored the Eagles' lone goal in the 87th minute, unassisted, for his fourth of the season.
Bailey Oliver sealed the 5-1 contest with his second goal of the year off a pass from Florent Girardin with less than a minute left in regulation.
UAH outshot C-N 19 to six and eight to three in shots on goal. Luchowa tallied three saves on the night.
