Eagles Sweep Berry in Doubleheader to Stay Unbeaten

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – Carson-Newman beach volleyball earned a pair of 4-1 wins over Berry College on Wednesday, staying unbeaten on the season.
In the first match, the Eagles won four of the five flights to take the dual. Trinity Hafey and Paige Halcrow picked up a straight-set win at No. 1, while Emerson Ahsmuhs and Ava Potts, along with the duo of Lucy Bartee and Megan Rine, both secured three-set victories to help clinch the match. Madison Trondle and Morgan Foy added another point with a 21-16, 21-18 win at No. 5.

Carson-Newman followed with another strong performance in the second dual, again defeating Berry 4-1. Hafey and Halcrow and Ahsmuhs and Potts each won in straight sets, and Addie Smith and Kelcey Peterson rallied for a three-set comeback win at No. 4. Trondle and Foy sealed the match with a straight-set victory at the No. 5 position.

With the doubleheader sweep, the Eagles improved to 5-0 on the season. The Eagles return home to welcome Tennessee Tech to Mossy Creek for a doubleheader on Friday, Feb. 27, with matches scheduled for 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
