Carson-Newman Travels to Greenville for First Conference Weekend
Carson-Newman beach volleyball carries a perfect 7-0 record into Greenville, Tenn., this weekend as the Eagles open South Atlantic Conference/Conference Carolinas play at Hardin Park Beach Volleyball Complex.
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman beach volleyball makes the trip to Hardin Park Beach Volleyball Complex in Greenville, Tenn., for the first conference weekend of the season. The two-day meet begins Friday, March 6, with matches at 9:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
"We are excited to get conference play going," said head coach Cat Collins. "We have been preparing since January, so we are excited to see our hard work put into action."
The South Atlantic Conference/Conference Carolinas prepares to begin the first round of conference matches. Carson-Newman currently sits at 7-0 overall, with standout wins over Tennessee Tech and Berry College.
Catawba is the first team C-N takes on Friday, March 6, at 9:00 a.m. The Catawba Indians currently have a 2-1 record, with their lone loss coming to Stevenson.
The second match of day one comes against Wingate, which has yet to play a match this season and will open its schedule against Erskine, which currently has a 2-2 record on the season. The Eagles' match with Wingate is slated for a 2:30 p.m. start time.
Day two of Conference Weekend sees the Eagles take on Emmanuel (Ga.) at 10:15 a.m. The Lions enter the weekend with a 7-2 record.
The last match of the weekend sees Carson-Newman take on Erskine at 3:45 p.m.
"The teams this weekend will be some of the most competitive we've seen so far," said Collins. "Our defense will be challenged more than it has been this season. We have focused a lot on our defensive systems and preparing for different styles of play."
Carson-Newman begins the first conference weekend of the 2026 season at Hardin Park Beach Volleyball Complex in Greenville, Tenn., starting Friday, March 6, with matches at 9:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Saturday's matches are scheduled for 10:15 a.m. and 3:45 p.m.
"All pairs will naturally have some pressure, but I'm looking forward to seeing this group respond to the challenge," Collins stated. "We've had a lot of games that are more focused on us, but this weekend will be about how we respond to higher level play."
